What to bring:
Personal items
Bedding, blankets, quilts (it gets cold at night), pillow, sheets (to fit your bed size). Beds range from single (bunks and cots) to double size (beds and hide-a-beds) depending on your room. Please check with retreat coordinators to find out what type of bed you have.
Towels (bath size and small towel for a mat is a good option)
Toiletries and prescriptions
Shower shoes (floors can be slippery)
Slippers (floors might be cold)
Comfortable clothing for four days. Temperature may vary in the building so sweaters or layers are a good option.
Flashlight for bedside in the event of power outages
Munchies (optional as Camp Homewood supplies snacks in the evening)
Sewing Supplies
Sewing machine and all attachments
Extension cord and power bar
Ironing board and iron (mini or full-size). Of course others will share with you too! Ironing stations are set up as we cannot have too many irons plugged in, may trip the circuit breakers.
Desk or table lamp as available lighting varies and is not always good once daylight is gone.
Comfortable sewing chair
Projects to work on and related sewing supplies
How to get there:
Ferries to and from Quadra Island run on the hour, please check BC Ferries schedule at http://www.bcferries.com/.
Once you are on Quadra Island follow these directions to get to Camp Homewood:
On Quadra, continue up the main road leaving the ferry. After about half a kilometre turn a sharp left, near the Cove Shopping Center (small strip mall). After another half kilometre turn right at the stop sign, onto Heriot Bay Road.
Then 200 meters up Heriot Bay Road (just past the elementary school on the left) turn left onto West Road. The RCMP detachment will be on the right, immediately after the turn.
Travel on West Road for 4.5 kilometres and turn left at the large Homewood sign. Continue on the gravel road until you reach the paved road. The office is the large building immediately on the right.
