Retreats

The Comox Valley Schoolhouse Quilters hold quilting Retreats annually providing availability. The Retreats are usually held on beautiful Quadra Island at Camp Homewood. The group arrives at 11:00 am on the first day of retreat and leaves by 11:00 am on the last day.

The Quilters hold a Silent Auction every Retreat with proceeds donated to Camp Homewood. The group has also been known to have prize draws.

Everyone hangs their quilts as they are done for viewing during retreat.

There is no Show and Tell at the end of each Retreat.

Quilters are required to bring their own bedding and towels and whatever personal items, projects and sewing supplies they require.

Prices to participate in the Retreat vary depending on the type of room chosen, including HST, all-inclusive.  Quilters enjoy accommodation, three meals per day, snacks and lots of time for sewing and chatting.

Ferries to and from Quadra Island run on the hour, please check BC Ferries schedule at http://www.bcferries.com/.

Once you are on Quadra Island follow these directions to get to Camp Homewood:
On Quadra, continue up the main road leaving the ferry. After about half a kilometre turn a sharp left, near the Cove Shopping Center (small strip mall). After another half kilometre turn right at the stop sign, onto Heriot Bay Road.

Then 200 meters up Heriot Bay Road (just past the elementary school on the left) turn left onto West Road. The RCMP detachment will be on the right, immediately after the turn.

Travel on West Road for 4.5 kilometres and turn left at the large Homewood sign. Continue on the gravel road until you reach the paved road. The office is the large building immediately on the right.
